About Us

MADCC is a club for adults, young people, and families. Our members have a wide range of paddle sport interests including touring, moving water trips, flat water racing, and sea kayaking. The club’s qualified coaches are able to offer training and assessments for national skills awards in many aspects of paddle sport.

What we do…

Canal and Lake Sessions

During the summer months the club meets on Monday evenings on the Macclesfield canal in Bollington and on Thursday evenings at Brereton Lake.

Pool Sessions

In the winter months the club uses the pool at the Bollington leisure centre. This provides a great opportunity to practice capsize drills, rolling and other techniques.

Touring

Monthly touring paddles to a flat water location. Emphasis on a social paddle in not too challenging environment.

Racing

Club members take part in local and national Hasler series races. Regular training sessions are organised on local canals and rivers.

Moving Water

Monthly trips to local rivers such as the Goyt, Dee or Derwent or maybe further afield. Difficulty will be varied and chosen based on paddler ability.

Sea Kayaking

Monthly sea kayaking trips to locations such as North Wales, South Lakes. The club also arranges multi-day camping trips in Scotland or similar areas.
