White Water Trips 2026

As you are probably already aware, since Paul Davidson stood back and retired from organising and leading the white water paddling trips the club no longer has any suitably qualified white water leaders to continue running this activity and develop paddlers into moving water and beyond.
White water paddling has been a key activity that the club has actively engaged in for many years and is viewed as a natural progression from paddling along the canal to experiencing moving water down the various rivers in the local area and beyond.

Over the last four months the club has been searching for potential providers whom we could work with in order to continue providing white water development opportunities within MADCC.

To date we have identified one commercial organisation (Heart and Soul Adventures) and are exploring opportunities with another voluntary organisation (jnformation on this will follow in due course as appropriate).

Heart and Soul Adventures is owned and operated by Adam Robson (a former MADCC member). He has an excellent reputation and is known to several club members who have given excellent references as to his ability and suitability to provide this type of assistance to our club and is based locally in Warrington.

Neither of the above providers has an AALA (Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority) Licence which would allow under 18’s to paddle without a parent or guardian also being present on the water.

The purpose of this post is to assess the level of genuine interest of our MADCC Club members who are interested in white water paddles to attend ALONG with a PARENT (if under 18 years old) on professionally led white water day trips / development sessions this year.

MADCC are prepared to financially support these days and offer them to our club members at a heavily subsidised rate of £25-£30 per person per day. The ratio for these sessions would be a maximum of 1:6 for grade 1/2 water. (more advanced grades are possible but this covers most current club members).

Note 1 : we would need to book 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) if trips are at a weekend – so we could cover 12 paddler slots over a weekend. If people were interested in paddles during the week then those days can be booked one day at a time (ie 6 paddler slots).

Note 2: Initially we have limited this offer to our known white water paddlers and effectively given you first refusal but we will extend this opportunity to the wider club membership depending upon the level of response.

If you could please let me know ASAP if this would be of interest and roughly how frequently would you like to paddle (e.g. once per month, once every other month or just a couple of times this year etc).
Many thanks

I would be interested in this offer, preferably grade 2/3 rivers, roughly monthly on any days.
Thanks
